WILLIS, Charles R., 3 Jan 1997; WINSLOW genealogy, Chart 8 of Allen Ogden shows Polly WELLS to have died after 1880, Kingsbury Co. New York. Charles Willis reports it was passed down from several sources that there is an Indian in the WELLS family. Some say it was Polly (WELLS) WINSLOW. A picture of her daughter Sarah (WINSLOW) VAUGHN does have a distinct Indian look. Willis is of the opinion that the Indian is probably Polly WELLS' mother Mary (?) WELLS. Willis followed the census on Polly (WELLS) WINSLOW untill 1880 where she was 92 years old; she never showed up after that. WEISER, Gloria, 3 Jan 1997; WINSLOW ANCESTRY records, report Polly WELLS noted as Mary in some records, born 1789 Washington County, according to census married 8 Sept 1805, Queensbury, Warren County, New York, Commissioner of Peace, William Robards, Jr.

WOODARD, Hadley, New York vital records; Notes taken from WINSLOW Ancestors: First documented records: Washington Co., New York 1825 census shows a Stehpen WINSLOW living in Westfield (now called Fort Ann), Washington County, New York. From other records, it was determined that his family was as follows: Stephen WINSLOW, age 50 farmer Roxinda WINSLOW, age 50 Daniel Allen WINSLOW, age 25 farmer James WINSLOW, age 21 John J. WINSLOW, age 19 Morris WINSLOW, age 15 Leonard WINSLOW, age 13 Julia A. WINSOLW, age 9 In the 1865, census showed they had had eight children, but it is believed only six lived as no records were located on the other two. The 1855 census show the family living in Washington Co., New York, but in 1865 in Warren Co. which is later learned was the town of Stony Creek. No documentations has been proven who Stephen's parents were, but there is a stone in a cemetery for Joseph WINSLOW, a Revolutionary War soldier who was married to Polly WELLS in Queensbury, New York, and by the date of their marriage it is quite possible to have had the son, Stephen. Joseph WINSLOW came from Dutchess Co., New York. The census shows the couple had childrn, but the number and names were unknown.
