Will Bk J-1, 230:1747.; Jane's brothers, Thomas and David were appointed guardians of the Simmon's children in Orphans Court, 1 DEC 1747 C.C.NEILSON NOTES: Robert Stockton patented 198a in Sadsbury Twp on 19 NOV 1743; he died in 1747; his will made no mention of the land; he chose his 2 sons Thomas and David to be guardians of his 7 orphaned grandchildren. (apparently Thomas took 5 and David the other 2); David died in 1752 and left the care of the 2 Simmons children, Samuel and Elizabeth to be divided among his 3 brothers (Will Book J-1, Lancaster Co., PA, p. 240); no other reference to the 7 children is known to exist.

She and her husband both d. before the death of her father and mother, and left seven orphan children, who are mentioned in the wills of their grandparents. CHILDREN; Isabel, Mary, Elizabeth, Samuel, Robert, Ann, and Johanna Simmons. VIRGINIA MCCOMAS 8/89 (dec'd) LEFT 7 ORPHANED CHILDREN BEFORE 1747; PER FATHER'S WILL PA VITAL RECORDS, VOL 1 (1983); LANCASTER CO ORPHANS COURT 1747; David Stockton and Thomas Stockton appointed Guardians over the Orphan Children of Samuel Simonds (fn 28), son-in-law of Robert Stockton, under whose care they were left by Will." fn 28 says, "Will of Samuel Simons/Simmons, dated 23 apr and proved 9 may 1747, named his wife Jane Simons and Robert Stockton executrix and executor. Children named were Isabella, Mary, Elizabeth, Samuel, Robert, Ann and Johanna Simons. Will Bk J-1, 230:1747 Jane must have died after her husband and before her father; Jane's husband's will dated April 1747, father's dated FEB 1747; Jane died between April 1747 and the next February (1748 by our calendar.) to have 7 childred before 1747, Jane would have married c1732, at usual age of 21 makes her birth c 1711

THE STOCKTON FAMILY OF NJ, DR.T.C.STOCKTON, 1911, APPENDIX, PG 243 Married Ann Powell; declared intention to marry 20 AUG 1760 at Sadsbury MTG, Lancaster, OA CC NEILSON, 1995; Lancaster Co., PA Deed Book BB-I, pp 293-5; Samuel Simmons and his wife Ann, of Sadsbury Twps sold to Levi Pownall of Sadsbury Twp for 400 pounds PA money, 99 acres in Sadsbury Twp, Lancnaster Co., on 20 SEP 1784, recorded 24 DEC 1784 23 APR 1752: Thomas Stockton and Frances his wife, sold to Adam Hope 198 acres in Sadsbury Twsp; Adam Hope and Agnes his wife on 6 MAR 1757 sold to Samuel Simmons the above 99 acres, part of the 198 acres. Neither transaction was recorded. DEED BOOK P-I, pg 224, Lancaster Co., PA sale by Samuel Simmon and Ann his wife to Moses Brinton, Leacock Twp on 1 MAY 1772
THE STOCKTON FAMILY OF NJ, DR.T.C.STOCKTON, 1911, APPENDIX, PG 243 CC NEILSON, 3703 MOSS BROOKE CT., FAIRFAX, VA; LANCASTER CO., PA DEED BOOK Z-V, P332 15 JUL 1818 sale by Elias Simmons and wife, Mary, and Joseph Simmons and wife Martha to Robert Simmons and wife Hannah of land in Sadsbury Twp. Said Mary, Martha and Hannah were the daughter of George Money who in his will of 20 AUG 1810 bequeathed each of them 21 acres. This sale consolidated the land under one owner. With no known connection among these 3 Simmon males, it is reasonable to conclude they were the sons of Samuel DEED BOOK XII, pg 518, 22 MAR 1859, sale of land by the heirs of Robert Simmons, and Hannahhis wife of Sadsbury Twp who died intestate. Eleanor, Samuel, Mary A., and James Simmons (and his wife Sarah Ann) sell to R. Barclay Simmons.
