    PERSONALITY: Quote from her sister, Mary: "In all the 10 years she had been
                 here tho' in indifferent health there has nver been one word of
                 complaint - She always had a lovely smile for everyone.

NOTE
    Came to Provost in 1913 from the Shetland Islands and set up farming NW of
    Provost (NW-14-40-3-W4) where he raised his family. He came by boat leaving
    Glasgow on the Allen Liner Grampian 26 April 1913.

NOTE
    OCCUPATION: School teacher and wife; a great letter writer and the one who
     supplied, searched and read the grave stones to assist in the family-tree
    PERSONALITY: Mary was very easy to get to know and very pleasant to get to

NOTE
    OCCUPATION:  Sandy, as he was known was born in Seaview House and received his
      education in Scalloway Public School. Leaving school he was a short time
      with Harcus Linklater & Co. Merchants Scalloway.  He joined army, first in
      Seaforth Highlanders then Machine Gun Corp. During world War 1 he was badly
      gassed 25 Dec 1917 - received Military Medal.  Returning from war he was a
      short time with Harcus again before starting a small herring business which
      made him well known to the travelling public throughout Shetland.  After
      marrying he went to Lochend, where he conducted a Merchant's business until
      2 years before he died.
    PERSONALITY: A quiet refined man.  When a little boy he was very quiet &
      sensiive but always s good natured.

NOTE
   Came to Canada in 1921 after serving in World War 1.  He took up farming
   three miles SE of his brother's farm  (William) a few years later, where
   he lived until his death.  Died 31 May 1987 Provost Alberta
   Interment in Provost Cemetery 3 Jun 1987
