John W CLARK
John W. Clark was one of the stone cutters that helped lay the corner stones for the Far West Temple, thus helping to fulfill that prophecy. 1. Clark/Lane Family by Wiscombe pp. 1-6, 9-10. 2. Marriage record 1st Congregational Church, Haddam, Middx., Conn. 24 July 1826. 4. This family was living at Far West, Caldwell, Missouri when the saints were expelled from that state. They moved to Quincy, Ill. where John W. took a job cutting stone and building bridges for the railroad. He was stricken with a high fever and pain in his right side, he died soon after. His two eldest children died within two or three weeks after their father. 5. Biography of son, Davis Clark. [Sworn to before W. Oglesby, J.P., Adams Co., IL, 13 Mar 1840.] Clark, John W. Quinsey April 31 1839 p. 166 A bill of lost property sustaind in consequence of mobery and order of Governer Boggs in the State of Missorie Forty acres of land cost $130.00 and sold for $20 loss $110.00 One acre of land and improvements thare on in the City Farwest cost $445.00 could not sell it for nothing loss 445.00 Fifty bushels of corn 20.00 A part of a horse harness 5.00 [p.167] loss of time in consequens of having to stand under arms agains mobs and not having a chance to labor and moving out of the State 100.00 expence money in moving to and from the State 100.00 total amount of loss $780.00 I hereby certafy the above to be a true bill of my loss acording to the best of my reckolection John W Clark

After this, Enoch gave the rest of the children away. Theodore Roosevelt Clark was killed when he was hit by lightning while riding on a horse. Enoch's middle name was taken from the IGI as of Dec 2003.
He married Maria (Mariah) Burr 24 Jul 1826 at Haddam, Mddlsx, Cnnc . Maria (Mariah) Burr was born at Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut 5 Jan 1806 daughter of Samuel Burr and Concurrence Johnson .
