John W. Clark was one of the stone cutters that helped lay the corner stones for the Far West Temple, thus helping to fulfill that prophecy. 1. Clark/Lane Family by Wiscombe pp. 1-6, 9-10. 2. Patriarchal Blessing given to John W. Clark by Joseph Smith Sr. in Kirtland Temple: Copy in possession of Erold C. Wiscombe. 3. Marriage record 1st Congregational Church, Haddam, Middx., Conn. 24 July 1826. 4. This family was living at Far West, Caldwell, Missouri when the saints were expelled from that state. They moved to Quincy, Ill. where John W. took a job cutting stone and building bridges for the railroad. He was stricken with a high fever and pain in his right side, he died soon after.
