He was called a "Yeoman" in England, indicating his societal rank. He andhis brothers Timothy and Joseph sold their land in Cranfield on February19, 1637/38 and he was made a Freeman in Massachusetts on March 13,1639/40. He is recorded as living in Concord as early as September 1,1640. He soon moved to Fairfield, Connecticut.
