                   Stayed fairly close to his father until his marriage. He the lived for awhile inthe village of Waterford. On the death of his stepmother Belinda, they went to OH and kept house for his father. There stay was not long and they returned to PA.
Hiram became a travelling preacher in the United Brethren Church, and spent a large share of his time in Western PA, and Eastern OH. He was an excellent preacher and a consecrated workman. He died near Leonidue, MI in 1884, at the home of his son Ansel.
