Wills of York County, Pennsylvania
Paul & Jill Rodgers 10213 Kensington Pkwy #102 Kensington, MD 20895 301 949-4917 One World Tree has this as Anna Maria Graef. I got the death date from there also. At the birth of her daughter Elizabeth, she was listed as Maria Catherine Graeff. Could be Catharina (from Wolf's - at the baptism of Anna Maria Cathatina). There is an obvious descrepency if Maria Catherine or Anna Maria was the wife ofPeter Heilman. Wolfs church has her as Catharina at the birth of Johannes (John) in 1789. First Reformed (Trinity) Church has their marriage, she is listed as Catharine Gref. They are listed as Heilmann. Mentioned in one place as Katrina. One of the records has last name as Greb.
May also have gone by Johannes, but he was Christened as John. Father and mother listed as Peter and Catharine, sponsors were John Deiss Greff, and Anna Greff?? Another document at Wolf's has this as Johannes Church: Records of Wolf's (St. Paul's) Reformed and Lutheran Church, West Manchester Township, York County, Pennsylvania, 1764-1894 Anna Greff Sponsor Baptism John Deiss Greff Sponsor Baptism Catharine Heilman Mother Baptism Peter Heilman Father Baptism John Heilman Born 30 Sep 1789 Birth John Heilman Baptized 1 Nov 1789 Baptism V
York County, Pennsylvania Marriages, 1800-46: First Trinity Reformed Church about Polly Heilman Spar Name: Polly Heilman Spar Description: Bride Event: Marriage Date of Event: 2 Jun 1811 Church: Records of First Trinity Reformed Church, City of York, York County, Pennsylvania, Marriages 1800-1846
Her parents were listed as Peter and Catharine. Her sponsors were Abraham and Susanna Trostel. Abraham Trostel was the executor (along with Anna Gertraut) of Mathias' will. There is a Mary Heilmann who is married to a David Spahr - but this mary Heilmann was born 2 Jan 1791 in York. She died 16 Mar 1879 in Carlisle Springs, Cumberland, PA. I don't think that this is ours. Its doesn't match our birth and death dates.
Also known as Johan Heinrich. He was christened as John Henry (maybe it was Johan Henrich - I also saw this one) . His parents were listed as Peter and Catharina. His sponsors were Henry and Margaret Jessler (Heinrich and Margaretha). 1860 - living in West Manchester with Lydia. He was a day laborer. Went by Henry. Not 100% sure about this one. There is another Henry Heilman, born 4 Mar 1793 inYork, married to a Lydia. This Henry was the son of John Philip Heilman and Marie Dorothy. One World tree has these as the parents of Leah, Levi. William, andEmanuel. Aug 19 2008 - probably not ours. He should have been 68 in the 1860 census, not 67. That matches the other one. 1850 census had him as 55 or 58 - if its 58, that would support our Henry. Possibly another child named Amanda, married to a Daniel Karn. 1870 United States Federal Census about Amanda Newcomer Name: Amanda Newcomer Estimated Birth Year: abt 1858 Age in 1870: 12 Birthplace: Pennsylvania Home in 1870: North Codorus, York, Pennsylvania Race: White Gender: Female Post Office: Seven Valley Household Members: Name Age Daniel Karn 44 Amanda Karn 38 Aaron Karn 15 Wm Henry Karn 12 George C Karn 9 Martin Karn 8 Hamilton Karn 6 Henry Newcomer 1 Amanda Newcomer 12 Lydia Heilman 60
She was sponsored at her baptism by her grandparents Matthias and Gertrude Graeff. One place they are listed as Mathias Graf and Gertherautha Graf. Here she is named Elizabetha. There is an Elizabeth Henry, wife of John, died jul 11 1836, aged 42 - 10 - 18, at Emmanuel Reformed. This may be her. I used these dates. I also had a death date of Feb 1839. **** Her mother is named MARIA CATHARINE HEILMAN Dispels the Anna Maria wifeof Peter Heilman rumors. On the church record she is Elisabetha Heilman.
I got this from Wolf's records. She is listed as Sarah Heuman, but her parents are Catherine and Peter, and her sponsor is Gertrude Graeff. (Mathias had died bythis time). Another record of the same event has her as Heilman. Some records say 1795, some 1796.
Her parents are listed as Peter and Catharine. She was sponsored by John and Julianna Graf.
1850 - living in Paradise, with Eliza (wife), Julia,Peter, Daniel and Rebecca. 1860 census, he was living with Lisa (??? ELizabeth) and Julian (Julia???) next to Peter and Eli. He was a farmer. I saw and photographed his headstone. Headstone says: Hileman, Peter, Dec 2, 1868, 69 - 11- 28. One place also has his birthplace as Pidgeon Hills.
Harry Senft had birthdate of 18 Apr 1801 York, PA. Christening 30 May 1801 @St. Paul's WOlfs Church, West Manchester, York, PA I have used this. 24 Sep 1799, West Manchester, York, Pennsylvania, USA
Strine Family of York, PA, is where I got this info. Not sure about this. THere is an Eli Heilman, born about 1804, who was a day laborer who lived aroundor with the Mauls in 1860. This was in Paradise township, very close to where alot of Maria Catherine Graff's relatives lived.
