Notes:
Came to America with Anna Maria in 1743. According to the card file.
Ship Robert and Alice, from Rotterdam, qualified Sep 30, 1743; Johann Philip Emig, Johan Philip Emig Sr.

2008, I am assuming that this is the John Emich:
A nailsmith by trade. A trade he learned in Germany. He received 2 land Warrants. The first in 1746 in Manchester Twp, the second in Manheim Twp. A copy is available in the York library, I don't have this.
In 1749, John Emich, Nailsmith, sold the Manchester Twp, land to his son, John Ehmig, Yeoman or farmer. This transaction is reportedly in the draft records.

This last John Ehmig, Yeoman or Farmer, was the father of Valentine Ehmig, who in 1802 bought a farm at what is now called Emigsville. He was named for his grandfather, Valentine Krantz, and he served in the Revolution from York County.

The last record of John Emich (Nailsmith) was 24 Sep 1762, when he was naturalized after taking the Sacrament, Sep 19, 1762. (Barbara Nichols letter, in my possession, also at the York historical society).

24 Feb 2008 - Philip Emig (Sr) had died by 26 Mar 1794. He died intestate, owned170 acred in Codorus Twp, part of tract of 241 1/2 acres, of which 71 1/2 acres were made over to Laurence Gramer (his son- in-law) by the dewcedent, being intended as Gramer's share of the estate in right of his wife Anna Maria, daughterof the decedent. Decedent left issue : Philip (eldest son), Catherine, wife of Ernest Olp, Anna Maria, wife of Laurence Gramer, George.
(SO HE LIVED IN CODORUS).
