                   News Comet  26 Jun 1936 - Amanda Auchey

Mrs. Amanda Auchey, widow of David Auchey, formerly of near Abbottstown, died Sat evening at 8:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul E. Chronister, New Oxford. She was aged 74 years. Mrs. Auchey was a daughter of the late william and mary Becker Laughman, and was born Nov 6, 1861. Surviving are six children; Charles Auchey, Abbottstown; Claude Auchey and harry Auchey, West Manheim township; Mrs. Charles Crawford, Paradise township; Mrs. Harry Heffner, near Dillsburg; and Mrs. Paul E. Chronister, New Oxford, with whom he resided; 30 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; three brothers, William Laughman, of Thomasville; Jesse Laughman, of Stovertown, and George Laughman, Paradise township, and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Heilman, York. The funeral was held in the Lutheran church at Abbottstown. Burial in the Lutheran cemetery in Abbottstown.
