Scalds suffered on Wed morning when she fell into a pot of boiling water, whichwas sitting upon the floor of the kitchen at her home, caused the death about 9oclock, Thursday night of Mildred E. Rodgers, 19 months-old daughter of Mr. andmrs. Ammom Rodgers of near Abbottstown. Burns from the fall into the water covered the entire right side of the child and she suffered intensely during the time that she lived following the accident, spasms hastening her death. The child, it is understood, was playing in the room at the time, and the water, which wasin a large iron pot, was sitting along side of the stove. It is believed that the baby tripped and fell. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon, interment inthe Lutherna cemetery.
