When a youth, he lived in London with his aunt, Mrs. Frances Hodgson
Burnett. Completed his education in England. He was society writer for
the New York American for 12 years. At one time he wasan actor with
William Gillette. In 1919, he became associated with Fahnestock Electric
Co., and succeeded his deceased brother, Earnest, as president. His
large home, "Archways" at Plandome, Long Island, was built by his aunt,
Mrs. Burnett, and was destroyed by fire in 1935 at a reported loss of
$200,000. Archie was survived by his widow.
