1. Samuel was first married to Mary Bradshaw.  They were apparently divorced by about 1829, as he had a second wife and family after that date.
   2. At the time of the 1817 Census of Nova Scotia, the Symonds family and the Bradshaw families were living only four houses apart in the village of Antigonish.
   3. Samuel was an administrator of the estate of James George Bradshaw along with George's widow, Mary (Smith) Bradshaw.
