SAMUEL HARRIS, was born 1735 in PA and died 5 Oct. 1795, Statesville, Iredell,
N.C. He married 1st: Rebecca Morrison 7 Aug 1758. She was b abt 1737, either
NC or Nantmeal Township, Chester, PA; d 11 Aug 1776, Iredell, NC, daughter of William and Margaret B. Morrison.
Samuel Harris was granted a large section of land in 1758 and lived about one-half mile north of Loray, N.C. He was a member of the First Bench of Elders and Clerk
of the Session of Concord Presbyterian Church, which was a member of the same group of churches as old Fourth Creek. He was magistrate in North Carolina under King George of England. Later he was magistrate under the Colonial Government in the Revolutionary War, and still later under the State of N.C. after independence of
the colonies was gained. He died of typhoid fever and was buried in the Concord Church Cemetery.
The following is found which proves that (with James will and Deed to his daughter Sarah) James Harris who married Susannah Gass, is the son of Samuel and
