Notes:
Of Poplar Run, Newry, PA. I got this from an Irwin genealogy,

I also initially had his name as William from the IGI/Pedigree information, but I ran across this Irwin/Crawford data which matched perfectly.
Lived in Frankstown Township in 1785, and as of 1814, he lived in Greenfield Township, Bedford County, aged 67, weaver.
He was added to the list of the Sons of the Revolution.
Will was dated Oct 1821, but the estate record 1834 of Bedford County.
He was born on Ireland, but considered himself a Scotsman.

Another card from the Blair County Genealogical Society states that he came from Ireland some time before the Revolution. Married a Miss Jordan, moved to near where Hollidaysburg now stands, where he bought a tract of wild land. He made some improvements and built a house, from which he was driven by the Indians. He was compelled to take refuge in the fort. On his return he found only a bed of ashes, where he had left a comfortable home. He next moved near Newry, where he died.

Revolutionary War Veteran, W & G 593.
