Sarah Francetta Coleman Sarah spent her childhood on her father's farm. She received her education at Smithfield, completeing the sixth grade. She helped her mother with the household duties, and even learned to milk the cows. She could crochet and sew very well. In 1891 her sister and husband moved to Marysville, Idaho, and Sarah went along for a vacation. The Eli Harris family went along with them. It was here that she met James Gammell Harris, and while in Idaho she became his sweetheart. In the winter of 1893 he went to Utah, and married Sarah in the Logan Temple. They were the parents of twelve children. Sarah was called upon to part by death with six of her children. When her husband died she was left with eight children, seven of them not married. Her financial state was not good, although she was out of debt. She depended upon her sons for support. Sarah served as First Counselor in the Relief Society and was a home teacher; she also taught Primary. For five years she opend her home to the missionaries for Sunday School and Sacrament meeting. She had an organ that contributed greatly to the services. She also helped with the Red Cross, and was one of its leaders in the area Sarah moved to Smithfield in 1921 and lived with her brother. She was very independent and tried to be self supporting. She worked for other people, and also tended children. She died of heart trouble at Logan, Utah, and was buried at Smithfield, Utah. at the age of 56 years old. taken from the Harris geneology book
