That year he moved to Columbia and engaged in the men's furnishing business for 3 years, when he sold out simply because the landlord wanted the store. It had been a profitable business for him. For the next 2 years he lived again in Cordelia, then returned to Columbia, and lived there until the spring of 1898, when he came to Cordelia, with the intention of returning to Columbia, which he eventually did.
