Step-Brother of Former Times Publisher passes away at age 62 years.

Frank K. Hafer, Abbottstown, died at his home there at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 15 days. He was a step-brother of W. Lavere Hafer, Carlisle and Water Streets, Gettysburg, for mer publisher of the Gettysburg Times, whi is now convalescing from an illness at El Paso.
Death was due to a complication of diseases after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Hafer was born in Abbottstown and lived there his entire life.
His parents were the late W.W. and Mary Jane (Wilson) Hafer. For many years Mr. Hafer was a horse and cattle dealer. He was well known in Gettysburg and throguhout Adams County.
Surviving is his third wife, who before marriage was Miss Edna Wolf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Wolf; five sons and four daughters as follows:
L. Jordy, W. Warren, Horace, Misses Mary J. and Dorothy, Stewart, Miss Madge, Donald and Josephine Hafer.
A brother, William Hafer, and two step brothers, W. Lavere Hafer, and L.B. Hafer, Hanover, and a grandchild survive.

                   Mrs. Frank K. Hafer - New Oxford Item - 2 Sep 1898
Monday morening at 7 o'clock, Mrs. Carrie, wife of Frank K. Hafer, died at her home in Abbottstown, after an illnessof several months. She was a daughter of Louis Jordy and wife of Abbottstown and universally esteemed. Besides her husband, two young sons, Geordie and Warren survive her.
Deceased was aged 33 years, 2 months and 17 days and had been married about 12 years.

Master Sergaent Jordy L.  Hafer, retired from the US Army, died Monday in the Veterans hospital at Portland, OR. Sgt Hafer was born in Abbottstown, a son of the late Frank K. and Carrie Hafer, and was never married.
Surviving are his step-mother, Mrs. Edna Hafer, Abbottstown , four brothers and three sisters, W. Warren Hafer, Hanover; George H. Hafer, Harrisburg; Stewart Hfer, Dewitt, N.Y.; Donald Hafer, Abbottstown; Mrs. Ralph Strausbaugh, Spring Grove, and Mrs. Gerald Harman and Miss Madge Hafer, AAbbottstown. Funeral services Monday at 11 am. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery, Abbottstown.

W. Warren Hafer , 75, Hanover, died Friday at the Hanover General Hospital, following an extended illness.
He was the husband of Mrs. Lucretia R. Hafer, who died 5 Jan 1967.
Hafer was a native of Abbottstown, a son of the late Frank K. and  Carrie Jordy Hafer.
A son, William W. Hafer, survives. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Abbottstown, and masoinc organizations.
A private service will be held today, Burial in St. Johns Cemetery, Abbotttstown.
