After the marriage, they lived as tenant farmers until 1815 in GreeneCounty. They moved to East Bethlehem Township, Washington County and in1825 he purchased land. In 1835 he moved with his family to Knox County, Ohio. The foundation of the house he built was still visible in 1948, one halfmile south-west of Myers Corners, Milford Township, Ohio on thenorth-west side of Johnstown Road.
