L. Viola Meckley, 92, formerly from Abbottstown, died August 12, in the Brethren Home Community.
Born January 24, 1912, in Jackson Township, York County, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Minnie (Atland) Auchey, and the wife of the late George E. Meckley, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Meckley was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church, in Abbottstown.
Survivors include: two sons, Barry E. Meckley and Robert L. Meckley, both from Abbottstown; one daughter, Shirley A. Schneider, from York; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold E. Auchey, from New Oxford.
Pre-deceased by one son, Donald L. Meckley.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, August 14, at 2 p.m., in St. John?s Lutheran Church, 100 E. Water St., in Abbottstown, with Rev. Mark A. Werner officiating. Interment will be private.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 14, at 1 p.m., in the church, prior to the service.
