She is buried with her husband under the name Eliza. Her headstone stated: Eliza, wife of Peter, jul 16, 1876, 77 years, 2 months, and 26 days. There are lots of Wolfs buried at Emmanuel Lutheran. I didn't have time to look them up.
Listed in 1850 census in Paradise Township, York, PA. Census was dated 26 Nov 1850. He was 26. His children are noted from there. There is a 48 yr. old Elias living with them, he was blind. Who was 48 year old Elias? There was another Elias with a son Elias, so maybe these have been mixed up??? 12.3.09 - I am starting to question whether Elias's. I haven't found all of the kids on the same page. 1860 living in Paradise. His parents and brother were on the same page. No John, Amos or Eliza. 1870 - listed as Elias Hileman - living in Paradise. Henry through Mary were there. 1880 in Paradise Township with Elizabeth. Sarah was the only child with them. Henry and Susan were next door. There was a Daniel next to them. 1890 Veterans Schedules about Elias Heilman Veteran's Name: Elias Heilman Relative's Name: Elizabeth Heilman Relationship to veteran: Widow Home in 1890 (Township, County, State): Paradise, York, Pennsylvania Year enlisted: 1862 Year discharged: 1863 Rank: Private U.S. Civil War Soldiers, 1861-1865 about Elias Heilman Name: Elias Heilman Side: Union Regiment State/Origin: Pennsylvania Regiment Name: 166 Pennsylvania Inf. Heilman Leonard A. Heilman writes: My father and several sisters also state the following:My grandfather, Charles E., had a brother named Lauden and a sister named Sarah. Sarah never married. Grandfather (Charles E.) was a farmer and carpenter. Grandfather was quite a story-teller. This seems to be typical of the whole family. Thus, family history from this point on tends to become distorted and questionable as facts become based on stories Grandfather use to tell to his children. The general concensus is that Grandfather was born in York County. Regardless of where he was born, he lived at numerous places throughout Adams and York County. He never bought a farm but choose to always rent one. First recollections are that he first lived in Paradise township near the Adams County border. We then move all around to farms in the Pigeon Hills. then the family lived below Hanover for awhile. They next lived near Abbottstown and then back to the Hanover area. From here they moved to a J.E. Baker farm 1/2 mile from Saginaw (New Holland). The oldest son, John, worked for the railroad and got as far as Arizona before returning to become a blacksmith in Northeastern York Co. The older older sons became farmers in the Dover area. The rest of the family settled in and around Mt. Wolf, and were in various occupations.Since Elias is my great grandfather, there is a question as to whether Peter W. and 'Miss Wolf' are the same as my great great grandparents, Peter Heilman Jr. and Elizabeth Wolf. The only way this could be so is if Peter W. and 'Miss Wolf' had a son, Elias, who was not listed as such in the Historical Society records."According to the Historical Society of York County, PA. there is an entry of cemetery records from Emanuel's Reformed Cemetery, Hamilton Twp., Adams Co. that has an "Elias Hileman, (G.A.R.) died Jl 3, 1880." Could this be Elias Heilman? LAHS?
There is a Julia Grim - born Jul 1826, married to a Peter Grim, born Sep 1840, married 1857. They had one son, Peter, born Feb 1868. Julia had 1 child, living in 1900. Mathias Grim was living next door. He was born in 1838. 1870 - there is a Peter and Julia Grim living in Reading, Adams, PA. with a son Peter aged 2, and a servant named Emma Hilerna( Emma Heilman - niece of Julia?? - could she have been taking care of the baby?)), and a John Grim - farm laborer. Julia was 44 - would be 1826. Peter was 39, born about 1831.
I have seen the cemetery records. He was 52 - 5- 11. Living in Paradise Township in 1870. He was listed under P.W. He was listed as 39 years old which would make his birth year about 1831. One World Tree has his birth year at 1834, but this would not fit.
I also had a birthdate of 1834. There is a Daniel Heilman who married a Barbara Haar, 24 Aug 1858 at the parsonage. Record in the St. Johns register. I got the wife's name from the census. They were living in Paradise Township in 1870. Headstone stated that he was 71 - 5- 14. 1900 - living in Berwick, Adams, PA. No children with them. He was a toll gate keeper.
Exact dates from family tree. Gettysburg Compiler 20 Aug 1913 There might be a problem here, I have Rebecca as the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth, the obit has her the daughter of Eli and Elizabeth. Her sisters were Mary and Catherine. THIS DOES NOT MATCH Strine Family of York, PA stated that Rebecca had died bef Dec 1868. THIS IS NOT OUR REBECCA Born 1835, died 1913. Many people have her linked to Peter and Elizabeth, it just isn't so MRS. REBECCA MOUL, widow of the late jacob Moul died at her home at Hanover on Monday Aug 11 at the age of 78 years within two days. She was a daughter of Eli and Elizabeth Heilman, late of Paradise Township and was united in marriage with Mr. Moul about 51 years ago. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Flickinger of Hanover, and Mrs. Catherine Gates of New Oxford, also by five grandchildren. A sad feature in the death of Mrs. Moul is the demise of her only daughter, Mrs. L.A. Kohr, who passed away at the home of her mother, just one week ago. Funeral on last Thurdsday, August 14, services by Rev. S.A. Crabill. Interment in Mr. Olivet cemetery, Hanover. 12/7/09 - I looked up Catherine Gates, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Heilman of Berwick. So I am almost 100% sure that this is the wrong Rebecca. Furthermore..... Mrs. Mary Flickinger was the daughter of Eli and Mary Moul Heilmans of Berwick Twonship. Strine Family of York, PA stated that Rebecca had died bef Dec 1868. 12/7/09 - I looked up Catherine Gates, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Heilman of Berwick. So I am 00% sure that this is the wrong Rebecca. Furthermore..... Mrs. Mary Flickinger was the daughter of Eli and Mary Moul Heilmans of Berwick Township. There is a Rebecca Heilman, daughter of Elizabeth and Jacob, baptized at Trinity Reformed. Doesn't give the date.
