Alias:/Harry/ REFN: 9113 He founded the wholesale grocery business ofOakford and Fahnestock in 1856, with Aaron S. Oakford. He was organizer andpresident of the Loan and Homestead Association in Peoria, IL. He promoted the first public park system in the city. He was the first Park Commissioner, and later Treasurer of the Commission. He was an expert taxidermist. He owned a 6,000 acre rice plantation in Louisiana, and a large ranch in King's County, CA, where he later retired.
