Louis CHARPENTER

    CARPENTER, originally SCHARPENTIER, or CHARPENTIER

According to information from Batch #8405802 24, source call #1395724,Martin Carpenter married Margaretha Rost at Strasburg, Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1821.  Martin's son, John Sincere Carpenter, was born 10 March 1821 at Bavaria , Germany.  It is possible that Martin and Margaretha came to the U.S. later in the year and were married as indicated.

Martin Carpenter, who was born in Bavaria, may have been known by the name of Zimmerman

RLDS records indicate that Martin was born in Munich, Bavaria, Gernany.

The span of years between the birth of Jacob and John Sincere (eleven years) might suggest that Martin Carpenter may have two wives, the first one deceased prior to the marriage of the second.

There are some inconsistencies in the records.  Much research has been done by John Earl Carpenter, and others, in obtaining the information we now have.
