She submitted an Application for the Daughters of the American Revolution which was examined and approved on May 15, 1905 by the Chapter regent Mrs. L. Milton Brown . The National Number was 52328: "MRS. EDDIE HOUSE DUNCAN being of the age of eighteen years and upwards, hereby apply for membership in this Society by right of lineal descent in the following line from JOHN CHANDLER who was born in Virginia on the __ day of __, 1755. and died in Alabama on the __ day of __, 1,___. ( He was living on Oct 1832. and who served in the War of the Revolution.
I was born in the __ of __ County Smith , State of Texas. I am the daughter of REUBEN EDWARD HOUSE and LOUISE LOFTIN HOUSE, his wife: the said REUBEN EDWARD HOUSE was the son of REUBEN HOUSE and ELIZA DINKINS, his wife; the said REUBEN HOUSE was the son of REUBEN HOUSE and MARY CHANDLER, his wife; the said MARY CHANDLER, was the daughter of JOHN CHANDLER and MISS NANCE, his wife; and the said JOHN CHANDLER is the ancestor who assisted in establishing America Independence, while acting in the capacity of private.
                                  Mrs. Eddie House Duncan

My ancestors services in assisting in the establishment of American Independence during the War of the Revolution were as follows:
JOHN CHANDLER, served as a private in the South Carolina Line, being a resident of Newberry South Carolina. he served one month in 1776; two months in 1777, one month in 1778, four months in 1779, six months in 1780, and eight months in 1782. All of said service was under Captain John Lyle and Colonel James Lyle. He was in the battles of Slona; Ramsours Mills; Rocky Mount;; Hanging Rock and Fishing Creek.
The above is taken from the Department of the Interior of Washington, D.C. In 1882, JOHN CHANDLER, was living in Gwinnett, County, Georgia, on the date he applied for pension. After the Revolution he resided in South Carolina, thence to Georgia, thence to Alabama from whence he applied asking if it would be necessary to make out new papers on account of his change of residence. (I examined the orginal papers in Pension Bureau).
                               Mrs. Eddie House Duncan.
