Having received information from the History of the Yellowstone Valley..I find a discrepancy in the birth date. In this article he was said to have been born 7 of March 1857 in Torino Italy. He lives on a well-conducted and convenient ranch two miles north of Linley (now called Luther...the postmasters there changed the country town to their name), in NAME: Charles/Carlo Carbon County. His father Alexander born in Italy was a farmer. His father passed away from earth in Italy in 1905. His mother was Catherina (Bertot) Boggio and was a native of Italy born near the birthplace of her husband. His education began in Italy. To Carbon County he came in 1890 and here he secured a fine homsestead, upon which he and his growing family now reside. In 1881 Charles married Teresa Castagna. She was born in the same country and locality as her husband. Her mother, Anna (Martino) Castagna was of Italian birth. Charles and Teresa have eight children...Alexander, Frank, Joseph, Peter, John, Annie, Alice and Evangeline. Charles Boggio came from Italy on 10 March 1890 on the ship, "La Bretagne" about 30 years of age. Came directly to Red Lodge to join a brother. Worked in the mine about 5 years before moving to ranch. Helped originate the Italian lodge in Red Lodge. Only about 12 Italian families there at that time. WAs treasure for a number of years. Retired to Luther in 1933--passed away in 1936 at the age of 74. Sent for family 2 years after arrival. Mother, Alex, Frank and Joe. Father advised him to go to either North or South America. 1910 Census Charles was 57 and his wife Theresa was 43. They both were born in Italy and Charles was a farmer by trade. Their children are as follows: Frank was 22 having been born in Italy and a Farm Labor by trade. Peter was 19 having been born in Montana and also a Farm Laborer. Annie was 10 Alexandra was 8 Evangeline was 5 (Ref. Portion of the History of Carbon County from the History of Yellowstone County) p.631 In 1890 he came to Carbon County and secured a homestead 2 miles north of Linley.
