                   Nathan moved to Philadelphia after 1730, entered a business partnership with
David Franks, business name was Levy & Franks. They owned several ships. On
25 Sep 1740 he bought the first piece of land in Philadelphia for a Jewish
burial ground. The Pennsylvania Gazette of Sept 1751 contained an
advertisement from Nathan offering a reward of 20 shillings for the arrest
and conviction of the person "who fired shots against the fence of the Jews
