       John F. W. Ruyssell Barge was born May 1846 in England. He was often called Jack. He came with his family to Canada west about 1850. Jack later moved to Cleveland about 1868. In 1872 he formed a company with M.M. Udell in photography. He continued this relationship for several years and then in 1890 is listed as a salesman for Barge and Gross. He retired in 1904. He married Cornelia, but had no children of his own.
