William Archibald GRAHAM

                   His Will: September Court 1809 (#259)In the name of God, Amen, I, William Grayham, Sr., of Caswell County, North Carolina, being very infirm in body but in my common reason and knowing that in a short time I must leave this world, and desire to settle my affairs before I gohence-First I desire to give my soul to Almighty God, and my body to be buried decently, Where my executors shall appoint; and as for my worldly goods and chattells, I give and bequeath in manner and form following,To my daughter Charrity Allen Davis, and her heirs, I give five shillings; to Lidda Elmore, $25; to my son Edward Grayham I give $100; to my son William Grayham I give $200; to my son George Grayham I give $100; to my son John Grayham I give $200; to my son Peter Grayham I give $500; to my daughter Polley Elmores's heirs, I give five shillings; to my grandson Herrington Grayham, I give $50 and one feather bed and furniture; and I will that my Negroe woman Venus at my decease be free from service to any person and that she shall have fifteen acres of land joining I give Herrington Grayham.I desire that first my just debts be lawfully contented and paid. I will that my son John Grayham and William Weatherford and Thomas Weatherford be my executors to act in this my will, and that this and no other be my last will and testament.
