                   NOTES:  In 1660 Captain William Armstrong was granted the Farney Castle and grounds in County Tipperary by King Charles II.  William had supported the Stuarts and fought against Oliver Cromwell.  The Armstrong names remained associated with the castle for the next 200 years.
