"The couple is listed in the Clackamas County, Oregon census of 1860 with their three children and William, Franciss' younger brother, who is listed as a 'laborer'.  Francis' occupation is listed as 'farmer'.
    Francis and Ann were both drowned Feburary 21, 1864 in Clackamas County, Oregon, while trying to ford the Molalla River on the way to church and to visit her family.  When the bodies were found, they were still holding hands.  He wasa farmer on the 1860 census.  They staked a donation land claim."

William Howard's birthdate is also listed as 13 Dec 1831.

"He was named after his paternal grandfather.  He settled with his family in Clackamas County and became a Methodist Minister.  He never married, and was killed in an accident Seoptember 7, 1862.  He is buried next to his parents in the Howard Cemetery at the foot of Mulino Hill."

John is listed as a "farmer".  He was the Superintendent of Douglas County Schools between 1881 and 1884.  He was in Marion County, Oregon in 1865."

"John was a Methodist Minister.  Was a farmer.  Was a Supertindent of Douglas County Schools between1882-1884.  In 1865  he was in Marion County, Oregon"

27 Apr 1989:  To Kent Haldorson from Barbara Howard Hostetler.  "She was born 11/9/1846, 6 weeks after Richard Rutter Howard arrived in Oregon.   Married Adam Wetherstonon 2/11/1862.  He was a millwright.  they were living in Oregon City per the 1860 Census.  Adam was born in E1ngland in  1830.  Died 1880's."

"He is found in the 1870 Clackamas County census attending school and living with his mother, sister, and brother-in-law in Oregon City.  As of 1893 he was married and in business in Oregon City, Oregon.  He died June 5, 1924, the last of his generation of Howards."

Annie worked for Dr. Mount.  Before the papermill was built, he had an excellent mill at Oregon City.  He went back East (New York) before 1915 and helped to head up General Electric.  He was the last survivor of the 10 children of Richard Rutter Howard,  

Listed in the 1870 Census living in Oregon City with Adam and Ann Weatherston (Anthony's sister).  As of 1893 he was married and in buriness in Oregon City.  He died 6/5/1924.
