He was grown and long gone from home before I was born, and he came seldom to visit. He married a widow, Fanny Roberts, who had 5 half-grown children. He did not approve of their conduct. He told my mother, "Vi, I just can't live that way." He walked out on the whole affair and so far as I know, never came back to Glendale or contacted any of the family members. My mother did not care for "Aunt" Fanny and her feathers were considerably ruffled when Aunt Fanny greeted her one time with, "How are you, sister?"
