                   VA GENEALOGIST, VOL 15, PG 304 (beginning of entry missing) 1787 he signed a
petition asking for a division of Bourbon Co., KY (KY Petition, 1769-1792, #48,
VA State Library) and another in July 1788 asking for a tobacco warehouse
(ibid, #56).  He was a pioneer Methodist preacher and performed many marriages
1788-1802. (Partial list in "Kentucky Ancestors", v 3, pp 150-53).  He appeared
in the 1810 census of Mason Co., KY, with wife, son, 4 daughters and 26 slaves.
     He lived near Mt. Sterling, KY for several years and then settled near Mt.
Washington, four miles from Maysville.  In 1930 his "mansion house", was
occupied by Mrs. Gabrella Casey, a descendant.  By his Will the widow,
Elizabeth, was left a personal property and a lien on the plantation, which was
given to his son Paul on condition he pay certains sums to the daughters.  The
children named in his will were: Paul, Phoebe, Elizabeth, Fannie, Hulda, Mary
