      Gowdy; performed an active tour of duty with his unit at Erie, PA under
      order of Maj Gen David Mead, from 1 Jan to 11 Feb 1814 for which he was
      paid $52.00; was an Elder in the Pres Ch & one of the first managers of the
      Meadville Bible Soc established in Meadville in 1815; more in ref)
