William WADDELL

                   C.C.NEILSON, 9/90; The earliest documentation on Elizabeth is a character
    testimonial from her pastor at Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, Leterkenny
    Twsp, 4 miles north of Chambersburg, PA. It was found among the effects of
    Annette McConnell (Anderson) to whom it had descended from her paternal
    grandmother, Margaret Neilson (McConnell), the daughter of James and Elizabeth
    (Waddle) Neilson.  James was Elizabeth Neilson's brother and no doubt a fellow
    congragant at Rocky Springs. "That the bearer, Elizabeth Nelson (Neilson) now
    Waddell, having lived in this congregartion from her childhood, until married
    to William Waddell last Spring, conducted herself soberly, honestly, and
    inoffensively; and when she left us, was free from Church-censure, and all
    scandal, known to us, is certified, with the consent of ye Session at Rocky
    Spring in Franklin County this 12th day of August 1794." by John Craighead,

Elizabeth married William Waddell, the brother of Elizabeth Waddell who
    married James Neilson, this Elizabeth's brother. Both Waddell children were
    1st cousins of William Wadell who married Elizabeth Stockton, the sister of
    Isabella (Stockton) Neilson, and both Neilson children were nieces and nephew
    of Elizabeth (Stockton) Waddell; I cannot figure their relationship to each
    other
