                   RESEARCH NOTE:
Pedigrees disagree about the ancestry of William Birch, some suggest a 22 Feb 1757 date, parents William Birch and Susannah Hawkins, and wife Ann Allen.  Others suggest a 21 Nov 1763 date, parents Samuel Birch and Ann Robottom, and wife Jane. While some sources mix the facts, it appears that there are two separate individuals.  The original ordinance record for William Birch (1788) shows parents William Birch and Jane.  This was performed in 1893 by DaLea Miller Nielsen.  No earlier ordinances could be located.
