According to Elaine, she has researched the Lutz surname in Butler County extensively and discovered that our branch of the Lutz family lived in the townships and surrounding communities whereas a newer Lutz family from Germany lived in Butler proper.  At the time of the 1880 census there are some Lutz families noting their birthplace or their parent's birthplaces as Germany.  Our older Lutz families are all born in PA on the 1880 and 1850 censuses.

Individual found at the Beaver Falls Carnegie Library Genealogical Department in family folder for LUTZ from information sent in by a Leon Hancock of Pittsburgh back in about 1991.  That information included Census data from 1850 and 1860 for Franklin Twp., Beaver Co., PA  -- In reading through his information I believe Mr. Hancock has confused the two Lutz families living in the Butler County area. I have included only that information in my file which seems to belong to that of the older Lutz family.

From correspondence from Leon - he believes our similar data is merely coincidental.  At this time, I disagree as there is simply too many similarties.   But we will need to follow up on this to be sure.

                   Notes from file at Beaver Falls Carnegie Library Genealogical Department are from about 1991 from a Leon Hancock of Pittsburgh.  He noted that Mary is buried with child in the Lillyville Lutheran Cemetery, Lillyville Road, Beaver Co., PA and that she has no marker, but her husband has a Civil War marker.
