Darryl noted that after Andrew's death, Mary is said to have married a Mr. Downey.  In 1842 Nimrod Derrick petitioned for guardianship of Andrew and Mary's minor children, Harriett, Harmon and Lavina.  Hamilton was not mentioned in the petition.
