Individual found on 1850 Census for W. Conoquenessing Twp, Butler Co, PA
#146:  Joseph LUTZ, age 31, Laborer
             Lydia, age 35, wife
             Jacob, age ? - either 10 or 14, son
             Elizabeth, age 9, daughter
             John, age 8, son
             Rosanna, age 6, daughter
             Jesse, age 3, son
             Madeline, age 1, daughter

This 1850 John would have then been born in 1842-43, which is the right year to be this John LUTZ.

Individual found on the 1880 Lancaster Twp, census as John Lutz, age 37, Occupation: Head Laborer, wife, Emily, age 37, son-Joseph, age 19, son-James Wesley age 9, daughter Sarah Louise, age 7.

Also, as of the 1880 census he was living four households away from Joseph and Lydia Lutz.

In the 1892 will of Margaret Ruby, one of the expeditures was a payment of $3.00 to John Lutz for digging the grave.

Individual found on the 1900 Lancaster Twp, census as John Lutz, b. Nov 1843, age 56, Day Laborer with wife Emily, b. Mar 1843, age 57, married 36 years, both born in PA with 5 children/3 living.   If married for 36 years in 1900, that would make marriage year 1864 - oldest child known was born in 1861.

Age: 61; Parent's Names:  not listed; Place of Birth: Middle Lancaster Twp, PA; Date of Death: 15 Feb 1905; Place of Death: Middle Lancaster Twp, PA; Cause of Death: Heart trouble; Buried: Lancaster, Date of Burial: 18 Feb 1905; Date Death Recorded: 15 May 1905.

Individual obituary found in the Butler Citizen dated Thursday, March 2, 1905:
"John Lutz of Middle Lancaster was found dead of apoplexy by his returning from a neighbors house Thursday morning 16th. He was buired in the Lutheran cemetery there on Sunday afternoon.  he had lived all his life in or near Middle Lancaster.  Age 61 years."
(John would have been 62 in November of 1905 had he lived)

Individual found in correspondence dated 8 Nov 2002 received from the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037 as joining the church along with his wife, Emily, and Joseph W., and Emmanuel on April 8, 1882.  Emmanuel and Joseph were confirmed on that day.  Sarah L. Lutz was confirmed a member on June 13, 1886.   John Lutz burial information is listed for the Zion Lutheran Church English Cemetery lot designation A-3, Z-S: Site #1.

Individual found listed as buried at Zion Church Cemetery next to Maggie Jane Lutz.  His birth year is listed as 1842, but 1847 is probably correct based on the 1880 census.
