"Spanish-American Genealogical Helper," Vol.II, No.1, July-Aug 1972
(p.81).  Lists birthdate as 1739.  "Notes: Soldier of 1769, enlisted
1765 in Loreto (Baja California), rose to sergeant, returned to
Loreto in 1771, returned in 1774 to the service.  Married 3 times,
second time married at San Gabriel 2 Nov 1783.  He was at Santa
Barbara, San Francisco and San Jose, retired in 1802.  Left a
distinguished record."
