NOTES: 1. Letter from Bert Bohe to son John (c.1951), obtained from Jack Bohe of Denver. Bert was told this by his Grandmother Bohe, Pauline Zaffle Bohe 2. The original Bohe name was spelled Bouhea, pron. Boo-ay'. The Bouheas were French. The 3 oldest brothers of the father of Ignatius Bohe were in Napoleon's army of 600,000, which crossed the Alps to invade Russia in 1812. They never returned (500,000 men died of the cold or of starvation, or were killed by the enemy). Ignatius later changed the name to Bohe and left the country for the US in the 1850's.
He married Franziska Mantz 10 Feb 1772 at Haueneberstein, Baden, Germany . Franziska Mantz was born at Balzbofen, Baden, Germany Abt 1752 daughter of Joseph Mantz and Magdalena Stribick .
