                   RESEARCH NOTE: According to Stubs Entries to Indents #2795, Bk X, Pt 2, pg 64, Major served in the Rev War with Brandon's Reg't on militia duty after the fall of Charleston. Most of the children of Joseph and Mary Duke migrated to GA, but Major went to SC before the others went to GA. In the 1830 census Major was living with his daughter Holly (Duke) Murphy.
