Hendrick Claasen Van Schoonhoven had the marriage to Debora Christoffel Davids annuled on 17 Oct 1687 which is in the Count Clerk's office at Kingston in Book AA, p. 66. states that Debora admitted that Hendrick was not the father of her first child. Therefore, Nicholas was referred to, by Hendrick as the bastard.
