LEWIS VANALTINE TAYLOR NATIVE
       Taylor County native Lewis D. VanAlstine, 66, died Aug. 26, 1984 at his home in Stuart.
       He was born in Nodaway Township in Taylor County on Nov. 29, 1917, the son of Lewis George and Bertha Leona Sollars VanAlstine.
       He had retired in 1980 from the state maintenance department.
       Funeral services will be held this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Link Funeral Home in Stuart with burial in the Clarinda cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
       Survivors include his wife, Orpha, of the home; one son, Larry of Auburn, Il; one daughter, Joanne Nulph of Stuart; one brother, Dale, of Clarinda; two sisters, Letcha Williamson of White Salmon, Wa, and Vona Robertson of Solon, Ia; three grandchildren, one step-daughter, Barbara Clayton of Dallas, Tx; two step sons, Bob Derrickson of Earlham, Ia, and Larry Derrickson of Salt Lake City, Ut; and seven step-granddaughters.
