LEWIS HARGADINE
Princeville, July 5 - Lewis Hargadine 81, a retired farmer, died at his home in Stark this afternoon.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Julia Morrissey of Stark; two sons, Edgar of Wyoming and George W. of Peoria, and two stepsons, John and Fred Yess of Princeville.

Time for services will be announced later by Bouton memorial home of Princeville.
Lewis E. Hargadine was born near Dunlap, April 16, 1868, and was the only child of William and Annah S. Evans Hargadine.   He passed away at his home in Stark July 5, 1949 at the age of eighty-one years, two months and nineteen days.

His mother died when he was six years old.  The father and son then made their home with Taylor Hargadines until the death of the father, when Lewis was ten.  Lewis then continued to reside with his uncle, being raised with his cousins, John and Lester, all of whom preceded him in death.

He was educated in Radnor township.  December 13, 1899 he was united in marriage to Josephine (Medi) Yess of Jubilee.   To this marriage were born three children, Julia, now Mrs. Michael Morrissey of Princeville, Edgar C. of near Toulon and George W. of Peoria; who with two stepsons, John and Fred Yess of Princeville and seven grandchildren, Jerrold and Sharon Yess of Princeville, William, Louise, James, John and Elizabeth Hargadine of near Toulon survive him.

He farmed in Jubilee for a number of years.  He then moved to Stark county and farmed in the vicinity of Duncan and Stark until he retired.  Upon his retirement he moved to Princeville where he lived until the death of his wife in 1937.  He moved to his home in Stark in 1941 where he lived until his death.

Besides the immediate family, he is survived by a host of relatives and friends.  Funeral services for Mr. Hargadine were held at the Bouton Memorial home in Princeville Thursday, July 7, at 2:30 DST.  Rev. Father J. A.Gordan officiated.  Song service was given by Mrs. Ray Callery and Francis Conley, who was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Fanchon Hall.  Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
