Brenda,If you wish a complete history of these PEEKs I suggest that you read the small book, "The North Carolina Mountain Peeks and their Descendants," by Lawrence Fobes.The first connection to the Shockley Family was when William PEEK, bn VA abt 1756 to George PEEK and Elizabeth SPENCER, married Elizabeth SHOCKLEY in VA. in 1776. Both William and his father George PEEK were Revoluntionary War veterans, William's DAR Lookup Reference Code is RY5GBK. He was a Sgt in the Quartermaster Corps. Geroge PEEK, bn VA abt 1720. DAR # is 277,808. Elizabeth SHOCKLEY was bn.bef. 1750 and died in Hayes Run after 1840 when she was in her 90's. Her parents were James SHOCKLEY and Margaret_______. The union produced 9 childrenI have a great deal more information on this family including a picture of the family coat of arms. If I can be of help, please let me know.Will
