Lewis Obituary: Richmond - Funeral services for Mrs. Vilate Whitehead Plant, 69, pioneer resident of Richmond, who died Friday morning at the family home after an illness of several months, will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Richmond LDS Tabernacle with interment in the Richmond Cemetery, directed by Hendricks Mortuary. Mrs. Plant was born in Richmond, March 8, 1868, a daughter of Frank and Jacosa Whitehead. She was married to H. T. Plant on April 26, 1887, and the couple celebrated their fifieth wedding anniversary last April. She is survived by her husband, four sons and daughters, four brothers and a sister and 14 grandchildren.
Obituary, Salt Lake Tribune, Apr. 4, 1969: Richmond, Cache County - Henry Thomas Plant Jr., 79, died April 2 in Richmond. Born Nov. 17, 1889, Richmond, to Henry Thomas Sr. and Vilate Whitehead Plant. Married Edith Webb June 12, 1912, Salt Lake LDS Temple; she died April 18, 1967. Graduate Utah State Agricultural College. Athletic coach, North Cache High School. Farmer, businessman, former Richmond City Councilman, Mayor. Member Richmond Lions Club; Ogden Elks Lodge. Survivors: sons, Ross H., Richmond; Ottis M., Salt Lake City; 6 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. W. H. (Effa) Hendricks, Mrs. C. H. (LaVerne) Buckmiller, both Salt Lake City. Funeral Saturday 1 p.m., Benson Stake center, Richmond, where friends call Friday 7-9 p.m., Saturday prior to services. Burial Richmond City Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to the National Society for the Presvention of Blindness, in care of C. S. Hall, Richmond.
Obituary, Salt Lake Tribune, April 7, 1986: Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Effa Plant Hendricks, age 92, died April 3, 1986 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born July 24, 1893 in Richmond, Utah the fourth of seven children born to Henry Thomas and Violate Whitehead Plant. She married Walstein Hyer Hendricks September 16, 1915 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death, July 3, 1969. She was raised in Richmond, Utah and moved to Salt Lake City in June 1925 with her husband and four children. Two more children were born in Salt Lake City. She was an active member of the LDS Church, having served many years in the Primary and Relief Society organizations in the First Ward, Edgehill Ward and Wasatch 2nd Ward. She was a member of the Edgehill Camp, D.U.P. Surviving are three sons, two daughters, Grant W. of Brea, California; Lynn C. and Richard L. of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Paul L. (Gayle) Elieson of Salt Lake City; Mrs. J. Russell (Marilyn) Hansen) of Magna, Utah; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne J., one great-grandchild; three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 1986 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the Mortuary Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the services. Internment in Richmond City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

Survivors: Husband, sons and daughter, Robert Carl, Salt Lake City; Val D., Selinsgrove, Pennsylania; Mrs. John (Lila Rae) Reese, Denver, Colorado; sister, Mrs. Effa Hendricks, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple. Private family viewing 9:30 a.m. Private internment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Family suggests contributions to the Utah Heart Fund.
