Obituary:  Richmond - Funeral services for Mrs. Vilate Whitehead Plant, 69, pioneer resident of Richmond, who died Friday morning at the family home after an illness of several months, will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Richmond LDS Tabernacle with interment in the Richmond Cemetery, directed by Hendricks Mortuary.
       Mrs. Plant was born in Richmond, March 8, 1868, a daughter of Frank and Jacosa Whitehead.  She was married to H. T. Plant on April 26, 1887, and the couple celebrated their fifieth wedding anniversary last April.
      She is survived by her husband, four sons and daughters, four brothers and a sister and 14 grandchildren.

Obituary, Salt Lake Tribune, Oct 2, 1967:  Logan - John William Whitehead, 85, died at the home of daughter, Salt Lake City, Sept. 30 of natural causes.     Born Aug. 7, 1882, Richmond, Cache County to Francis and Jocosa Jane Robinson Whitehead.  Married Edith Hubbard, Oct 12, 1904, Logan LDS Temple.  Retired farmer, southern Idaho.  Logan resident 20 years.  Member LDS Church.     Survivors:  widow; sons, daughters, Newell, Salmon, Idaho; Reed, Pocatello; Lowell, Chula Vista, California; Wallace, Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; J.D., Ogden, Mrs. Ed (Inez) Homer, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Duggan (Afton) Gibbs, McCammon, Idaho.  Funeral Wednesday noon, Logan Third LDS Ward Chapel.  Friends call Hall Mortuary, Logan, Tuesday 7-9 p.m., Wednesday prior to services.  Burial Logan City Cemetery.
