                   Obituary - Icie B. Peel

IcieB. Peel, 90, of Kansas City, MO. passed away Wednesday, Feb 21, 2001, in Mablevale, AR (should be AZ)  Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday Febuary 26 at DW Newcomer's Sons Flora Hills Chapel.  Burial in Floral Hillls Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday, at the chapel.  In lieu of floweres, contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Peel was born January 8, 1911, in Ulman, MO, to John T. and Edna Jane (Lewis)Davenport.  icie, at theage of 18, came to Kansas City from Miller County and after a short period, became employed at General Motors Fischer Body Plant at Leeds.  After 43 years of service at General Motors and having the most seniority of any woman with the company, she retired.  Her most important accomplishment in life was that she was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of Christ her entire life.  She always had a helping hand to anyone who was in need.  The Lord blessed Icie and her husband, Harold, with a son, Gerald David "bud", and a daughter, Linda Kay.  She was a faithful friend to all, and loved gardening.  After her retirement, she and Harold had many opportunities to travel throughout the United States, always meeting new friends and never forgetting the old.  A special thanks to her neice, Helen Siekman, for her loving kidness and care during her period of illness, never missing a day to inquire or being in attendance during hospital stays as well as her other family and friends.  Icie was preceded in death by five sisters, two brothers, and her husband of 50 years, Harold Raymond Peel.  She is survived by her son Gerald "Bud" Peel and her daughter, Linda Kay Horner and husband Weldon, of Kansas City, MO., seven granchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
