                   Joshua Alfred Dean II first married Mary A. (maiden name unknown) while he was still in Illinois. Mary A. died giving birth to an unnamed son in 1891, after they had gone to Kansas

                   She is the first wife of Joshua Alfred Dean II.  She was born in 1867 and died in 1891, at the age of 24.  The record is confusing in that it says his second marriage to Anne Alice Duke was in 1888.

In 2003, I located the headstone for MA Dean in Ames Chapel Cemetery, Moline Kansas. She died 23 Oct 1891, five days after giving birth to a son who died the same day.

She is the first wife of Joshua Alfred Dean II.  She was born in 1867 and died in 1891, at the age of 24.  The record is confusing in that it says his second marriage to Anne Alice Duke was in 1888.

                   The source of this information is from my personal observation of the headstone located in the Ames Chapel Cemetery just outside Moline, Elk County, Kansas.  The headstone marks the grave of both this infant son, and his mother, Mary A. Dean.  The headstone refers to Mary A. Dean as MA Dean. The headstone also identifies the father of the infant son as JA Dean, which is Joshua Alfred Dean II, my great uncle.

Thi child was sealed to his parents 11 Nov 2003, in the San Diego Temple, under the name of "Mr. Dean".
