MRS. SARAH HUTTON - Submitted by Freida Wells 
Sarah Ida, daughter of J. H. and Normanda E. Richard, was born in Hickory county, Missouri, Jan. 22, 1871, and departed this life at her home in Sedan Mar. 22. 1945, at the age of 74. She was married to William F. Hutton in 1890. To this union were born six children. One daughter, May, died in infancy. Surviving are three sons, J. R. of Sedan, Carrol J. of Elk city, William F. of Caney, two daughters Letha Short of Sedan and Leora Endicott of Peru, 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and four nieces. Five of her grandsons are serving in the South Pacific.
Mrs. Hutton united with the Baptist church when young and has been a faithful member. She came to Kansas soon after she was married and has lived in and near Sedan since. Her husband died Feb. 22, 1907. In 1913 she was married to C. J. Hutton, who died in September, 1932. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Sedan Saturday with the Rev. John W. Harbaugh officiating. A quartet composed of C. W. Floyd and Ben Funk, Mrs. W. D. Kinnaman and Mrs. Edith Brooke sang , I Will Sing You A Song, At the Cross and Beautiful Garden of Prayer, Pallbearers were Jim Mills, Carson Shukers, mark Call, Clayton McGill, Harley Wilkes and John Smith. Burial was in Ames chapel cemetery.
